Happy Fall!

My Sunflowers

Here are my sunflowers! Looking at them out in the garden makes me feel so happy! I am also quite pleased that I intentionally got something to grow this year. If life depended on my gardening skills, I am quite sure that we'd go hungry! Anyways, I get excited when something actually grows like it is supposed to.

Kids

Here's Mason. Right before this picture was taken, Mason was patrolling the yard with his gun. Guns have been his new obsession ever since Joe bought his first gun a few months ago.

Here is Leah playing some imaginary game behind the sunflowers. She has a really great imagination and she loves playing out in the garden.

Pumpkins!

Here is the only other thing that grew this year and I can't even take credit for it. These are our HUGE pumpkin plants that took off on their own in the dog run (they were so happy there that I couldn't pull them up). The leaves are huge and there are probably 20 flowers on the vine. I hope we will get some pretty pumpkins from these plants:)

Legs!

Click on these to look at them up close if you get a chance. It is pretty amazing to see how the tadpoles front legs grow through where their gills were. (The second picture shows it really well.)

These tadpoles are HUGE! They had tiny, spindly legs when we came home from our trip a little over a week ago. Since then, their back legs have gotten much bigger and they even kick them around. As for their front legs, almost all the tadpoles legs have poked through their gills this week. It is so fun to watch them grow! We do need to get a bigger home for them as they are quite crowded right now.

Another First

The weather has been beautiful the last two days! Yesterday, I decided I would do something that I have never done before, mow the lawn! It was fun and great exercise, but I think that in the future I'll leave that job to my dear husband:) (I do think that I did a pretty good job and the lines are pretty straight.)

More Snow!

Well, today, the snow is sticking and it is still coming down! This is a good excuse to throw the kids outside for a few hours today!

Spring Snow?

We woke up to snow this morning! The kids were excited to see it. Nothing is sticking, but it sure is funny to have snow at the end of March!

Small Things Bring Great Joy

This afternoon, a police car hit our van in the parking lot while we were shopping. It was just a little scratch, but we had to wait for the policewoman to fill out paperwork and for her supervisor to come and document the accident. ( I was embarrassed because our car was so dirty!) The wait turned out to be a whole lot of fun for Leah and Mason because they got to sit in the back of the police car! They even got a sticker. Little things sure can be fun. (Below is a picture of Leah and Mason wearing their police sticker badges.)

Freezing Rain

This is a picture of an icy tree in our backyard. For the last week or so, it has been sunny and cold. It was nice enough yesterday that the kids got to go outside and play and jump on the trampoline! This morning, it started to rain and there is ice on our deck, trampoline and our trees. Joe said that the streets are a little bit icy too.
